16 July 2026
Oritain, global leaders in forensic origin verification, has expanded its footprint with a new location and team in Paris, marking a significant milestone in the company’s global growth and strengthening its presence in continental Europe.
Located in one of the world’s most influential luxury and fashion hubs, Oritain’s Paris presence strengthens its support for French and European brands and manufacturers as they respond to rising expectations around product origin, supply chain transparency and regulatory compliance.
This is increasingly important as scrutiny intensifies across high-value and high-risk materials including cotton, leather and timber. Regulations including the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), European Union Forced Labour Regulation (EUFLR), United Kingdom Timber Regulations (UKTR) and the United States Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act (UFLPA) are raising expectations for credible, evidence-based sourcing and demonstrable proof of origin.
Alyn Franklin, Chief Executive Officer at Oritain, said: “Our investment in Paris reflects a fundamental shift in the market. Leading French brands are moving beyond trust-based claims and looking for credible, science-based origin verification to navigate rising supply chain risks, regulatory scrutiny and stakeholder expectations. By establishing a stronger presence in the heart of Europe, we are bringing our world-leading forensic science, data and expertise closer to customers, helping them turn transparency into a competitive advantage, strengthen resilience and build trust through evidence.”
Oritain has also expanded its leadership and in-market expertise in France. Alexandre Lacreuse joins as Vice President, Sales, EMEA, supported by a growing local team including Teodora Markovic, Senior Account Manager, who has relocated to Paris, and Madeleine Faure, who joins as Account Executive. This investment strengthens Oritain’s ability to work closely with brands, suppliers and partners, delivering regionally relevant support aligned to market dynamics and regulatory priorities.
Oritain marked the opening with an inaugural event on 2 July, bringing together key customers, partners and industry leaders from across the region. The event provided a platform to share insights from the latest Supply Chain Intelligence Report and to facilitate discussion on how brands are responding to evolving regulatory and consumer expectations.
Joining the event, Raynald Anquet, VP Quality & CSR Operations at Lacoste, said: “We have moved from a certification-led approach to one based on suppliers’ traceability declarations, validated by Oritain’s forensic origin verification programme. This gives us greater confidence in the information being provided throughout our supply chain and helps us focus our efforts where additional assurance is needed. Oritain is the most reliable way for us to independently verify the traceability information declared to us.”
The need for these capabilities is reinforced by Oritain’s latest data. Insights from the company’s 2026 Supply Chain Intelligence Report show that 90% of brands analysed in 2025 recorded at least one result consistent with prohibited cotton, up sharply from 64% the previous year. At the same time, consumer trust in brand claims continues to decline, with just 3% of consumers reporting trust in marketing claims, highlighting a growing gap between what companies say and what they can prove.
The Paris opening also builds on Oritain’s broader investment in Europe, following the acquisition of Advanced Isotopic Analysis (AiA) in Pau, France. As part of Oritain’s connected global laboratory network, this enhances scientific capability across the region, accelerating insight delivery, expanding analytical capacity, and supporting the delivery of forensic origin verification at scale.
