Oritain: our origin story
We trace our origins to the University of Otago in New Zealand, and a small group of scientists dedicated to tracing the origin of products.
Inspired by the potential of blending science and innovation to help protect the planet’s natural resources, they established a new company – and in 2008, Oritain was born.
But our story was just beginning.
Growth fueled by traceability
As the global need for product traceability has grown, so too has Oritain. We’ve expanded our capabilities and lab network to test products as diverse as cotton, wool, coffee, red meat, dairy, and more.
Our proprietary methodology is trusted by hundreds of leading brands and suppliers and our global database is unsurpassed, including complete coverage of all core cotton producing territories.
Today we employ more than 200 staff from offices in England, the United States, Singapore, and New Zealand, serving clients across the world.
