Oritain has appointed Ana Hinojosa as Executive Director Government and Regulatory Affairs, reinforcing its commitment to compliance, ethical sourcing and transparent supply chains.

Ana’s appointment follows the recent arrival of Paul Bentham, as Chief Product and Technology Officer, part of a broader investment in Oritain’s leadership and infrastructure to support growth across new markets and verticals.

As a globally recognized expert in customs enforcement and international trade policy, Ana brings more than 34 years of experience to the role, including holding senior leadership positions at U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and the World Customs Organization (WCO). She joined Oritain as an advisor in 2022 and now steps into an executive leadership position as the company accelerates its engagement with global regulatory bodies.

Oritain CEO, Alyn Franklin said “Ana brings unparalleled insight into global enforcement priorities. Her appointment reinforces our dedication to strong government relations and sustainable business practices. As the impact of global regulatory enforcement takes hold, her expertise will be essential in helping our customers remain compliant and future ready.”

During her tenure at CBP, Ana led initiatives targeting forced labor, trade fraud, and tariff evasion. She also modernized civil penalty systems to strengthen corporate accountability. Ana has also held senior positions with the WCO in Brussels and currently serves on the UK’s Trade Facilitation Commission, helping shape global compliance frameworks.

Ana expressed her enthusiasm for her new role, stating “Traceability is no longer optional. Regulators around the world are raising the bar, and Oritain’s scientific traceability is uniquely positioned to meet that challenge. I’m excited to help governments and companies work together to build more ethical and transparent global supply chains.”

In her new role, Ana will lead Oritain’s regulatory strategy, focusing on aligning its capabilities with emerging enforcement priorities, particularly in the U.S. As the company builds on its leadership in cotton traceability, it is expanding into other high-impact commodities increasingly scrutinized by global regulators. Additionally, Ana’s fluency in Spanish and prior work with Latin American countries will also support Oritain’s government and commercial clients in those markets.

Her appointment underscores Oritain’s commitment to world-class expertise and supports its mission to be the source of truth in global supply chains. With deep experience in both U.S. and EU regulatory environments, Ana will drive strategic initiatives that enhance government engagement, governance standards and the company’s ability to adapt to a rapidly evolving compliance landscape.
