Oritain is pleased to announce the appointment of Tom Holgate as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Tom's arrival further strengthens Oritain's leadership team, underpinning the company's continued growth and mission to bring transparency and traceability to global supply chains through science-led verification.

Tom joins Oritain with over 20 years' experience in transforming, scaling and leading finance and operational teams to support businesses experiencing high-growth, maturation and geographical expansion, most recently within the Technology and Life Sciences sectors.

"Tom is a highly experienced and respected leader who joins us at a significant time for the company," said Alyn Franklin, Oritain CEO. "He brings a breadth of technical, operational and leadership expertise that will be instrumental in supporting our continued growth and positioning us for success."

Based in Oritain's London office, Tom will be responsible for driving the company's business growth and profitability by overseeing all fiscal operations and management.

The mission of the company, the values of its people, and the potential of the business were what initially attracted Tom to Oritain. “I'm thrilled to be joining the team at Oritain, whose commitment to transparency, sustainability, and scientific rigor is essential in today’s global and fast-moving trading environment. The company's mission resonates deeply with me, being the son of farming parents where product origin is a critical focus."

Prior to Oritain, Tom served as Group Finance Director and latterly Interim CFO for BenevolentAI, a Euronext-listed business that uses AI and Machine Learning in drug discovery. In his roles he built and scaled the finance and operations team through start-up, scale up and listing readiness. He supported the Board, CEO and Executive team on key initiatives including M&A, landmark commercial partnerships, fundraising (private and public), investor relations and restructuring initiatives.

After having spent time at EY, Tom joined American Express through a period of considerable change, being part of the successful creation of a European wide Controllership function to embed governance, controls and reporting. He was then part of a large process improvement journey at MS Amlin (previously Amlin, FTSE 250 Insurance Business) where he led initiatives to improve board reporting, management insights and budgeting.

"My entire working career has focused on supporting teams and organizations navigating process improvement, scaling, integrations and maturity journeys. The journey ahead for Oritain to achieve our mission to be the source of truth in global supply chains perfectly matches, and I am excited for what we can achieve together," said Tom.

The appointment of Tom follows previous additions to Oritain's executive leadership, including Paul Bentham as Chief Product and Technology Officer and Ana Hinojosa as Executive Director of Government and Regulatory Affairs.
