2026 Oritain Supply Chain Intelligence Report
Revealing a Growing Trust Gap & Risk in Supply Chains

2 July 2026
Oritain, global leaders in forensic origin verification, today announced that Kyungbang has joined its Membership Programme as bronze members, becoming the first spinning mill to join the programme. The partnership was formalised through an in-person signing in Korea between Oritain Chief Executive Officer Alyn Franklin and Kyungbang Chairman Mr Joon Kim.
Kyungbang's membership spans its operations in South Korea and two spinning mills in Vietnam. As a global yarn supplier operating at the earliest stage of the textile supply chain, Kyungbang's commitment to ongoing, programmatic origin verification sets a new standard for the spinning sector, and gives its customers worldwide access to independently verified origin claims backed by forensic science.
Global supply chains are facing mounting pressure from regulatory enforcement, tariff-driven sourcing shifts, and consumers demanding proof over promises. Oritain's 2026 Supply Chain Intelligence Report found that the proportion of analysed brands with at least one result consistent with prohibited cotton climbed from 64% in 2024 to 90% in 2025, a reversal of three consecutive years of progress, despite widespread traceability adoption. Documentation-based traceability alone has not been sufficient to manage this risk. Programmatic forensic origin verification, continuous, science-based, and independent of paperwork, is how leading companies are building defensible supply chains.
"As a responsible global yarn supplier, participation in a transparent and independent origin verification programme is essential," said Chairman Joon Kim of Kyungbang. "Through Oritain's membership programme, Kyungbang will supply customers worldwide with products verified through independent forensic authentication. We expect this to receive strong support from market participants, and we are committed to ensuring we consistently deliver integrity and responsible trust to our customers."
"Kyungbang's decision to embed forensic origin verification at the spinner level is exactly the kind of upstream commitment that makes supply chains more resilient for everyone downstream," said Alyn Franklin, CEO of Oritain. "Oritain's Membership Programme connects a global community of responsible buyers and suppliers, and Kyungbang is leading their industry and region by joining it."
