Oritain has reinforced its focus on the U.S. with the appointment of Rebecca Brocato as Chief Government Affairs Officer - Americas, based in Washington D.C. In this role, Rebecca will oversee Oritain’s global public policy strategy and government affairs, cementing the company’s position as the foundational “source of truth” for regulators and policymakers navigating an increasingly complex global trade landscape.

Rebecca joins Oritain following a distinguished career at the highest levels of U.S. foreign and national security policy, including as Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director for Legislative Affairs at the National Security Council (NSC). In that role, she worked across the aisle to enact landmark industrial policy legislation, including the CHIPS and Science Act and Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act (UFLPA).

Alyn Franklin, CEO of Oritain, says, “As global trade, economic policy and regulation move in new and complicated directions, Rebecca’s deep expertise at the intersection of national security, economic statecraft and trade will be invaluable. Rebecca’s appointment also strengthens Oritain’s partnership with U.S. and international regulatory bodies.”

Following her White House tenure, Rebecca built and led Stony Run Advisory, a boutique strategic advisory firm serving deep tech and clean energy clients. She launched Stony Run Advisory after serving as Chief of Staff of the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) where she oversaw a $34B investment portfolio.

“The global trade paradigm is shifting toward industrial policy and supply chain resilience,” said Rebecca. “Oritain’s forensic origin verification methodology which blends forensic science and data is a game changer when it comes to enabling more ethical, resilient and accountable global supply chains.”

She added, “the opportunity to join Oritain at this pivotal growth stage was driven by the clear product-market fit between Oritain’s forensic science and data analysis capabilities and the trajectory of U.S. trade and regulatory policy. I look forward to building a function that ensures Oritain serves as the essential infrastructure for supply chain resilience.”

Rebecca’s appointment, alongside the recent addition of former CBP Assistant Commissioner Dave Fluty, signals a major build-out of Oritain’s leadership team, designed to meet the growing demand for science-led assurance in global trade.
