SERVICE DELIVERY MANAGER, ORITAIN GOVERNMENT SERVICES (OGS) 6-MONTH FIXED TERM CONTRACT (W2)

About us

Oritain is the global leader in scientifically verifying origin, notably in the cotton/textiles, food and pharmaceutical sectors. We exist to protect the reputations of our customers and US borders by identifying and mitigating well-known risks in global supply chains. Sustainability isn’t just about tackling climate change; it represents a growing conscience around our actions and the impact they have on people, animals and the planet. The personal, professional and governmental move to sustainable practice is driven by a desire to change our impact on the world. Still, we can’t do this without knowing the certainty of our actions.

In simple terms, Oritain collects samples for a growing database of products. This evolving database of geographically significant sources provides reference data for both genuine and risk origins. We then use these samples to establish a fingerprint of origin and compare the results of unknown samples against these to verify provenance. Doing this increases our clients' value by effectively identifying fraudulent behaviour in their supply chain.

Are you someone who loves making sure things run smoothly and on time? We’re looking for a Service Delivery Manager who can be the driving force behind our projects, keeping our Government Services clients happy and our teams on track. This role is offered as a 6-month fixed-term contract.

This is a fantastic opportunity to enhance your experience in a significant role while working for a company with a genuine purpose. This hybrid position is based out of our downtown offices two to three days a week.

What You’ll be doing:

  • Ensure delivery: You'll make sure everything we promised in contracts and project plans gets delivered, no excuses.
  • Handover: Ensure the correct chain of custody of samples and ensure the appropriate samples can be tested.
  • Stay Connected: You’ll be the go-to person, staying in touch with clients and our internal teams to catch any issues before they become problems.
  • Keep the Momentum Going: When obstacles pop up, you’ll knock them down and keep everyone moving forward.
  • Plan: You’ll lead the charge on planning, spotting potential roadblocks early, and keeping everything running smoothly across all services.
  • Build Relationships: You’ll connect us, partners, and clients, ensuring we work together seamlessly.
  • Work with the Team: You’ll collaborate with different teams to ensure we meet our client obligations. (Sales, Service delivery, Scientists, quality client success managers, to name a few)
  • Manage Logistics: Work with our logistics team to ensure the global movement of samples is on track.
  • Focus on Outcomes: It’s all about meeting timelines and milestones while constantly looking for ways to improve.
  • Communicate Clearly: You’ll keep everyone updated with up-to-date schedules and progress reports.
  • Monitor Performance: Monitor our progress and address any risks or delays as soon as they arise.
  • Mentor and Lead: Help develop and guide our Service Delivery Coordinators to strengthen the whole team.
  • Agile and Lean: You’ll apply lean principles to provide frameworks for delivery.

What we're looking for:

  • At least 7+ years in a service delivery or project management role
  • Experience with logistics is a bonus but not a dealbreaker.
  • If you’ve worked in the Federal Space, servicing Government agencies, that would be a huge plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in project management or other relevant experience
  • Project management certifications are highly advantageous
  • A natural leader with strong communication skills.
  • A team player who’s comfortable working with different departments.
  • Someone who gets lean principles and knows how to keep improving things.
  • Excellent knowledge and experience of Microsoft business tools (email, outlook, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • This hybrid role is based out of our D.C. offices 2-3 days per week. Some regional travel may be required. (20%)

Why Join Us? At Oritain, you’ll be part of a forward-thinking team that values your input and gives you room to grow. If you want to make a difference and love seeing projects through from start to finish, we’d love to talk to you.
