Gabriela Castro-Fontoura

Gabriela Castro-Fontoura is Regional Director of Latin America at Oritain. Having joined the company more than two years ago, Gabriela oversees Oritain's expansion in countries as diverse as Brazil, Uruguay, Bolivia and Costa Rica, covering products such as coffee, cacao, beef, wool, and leather.

Gabriela is an Economics graduate from Durham University in the UK, where she worked for 13 years before returning to live in her native Uruguay. She has supported over 100 companies from all over the world in Latin America through her own consultancy company, and has also worked with a number of government organisations, currently acting as Beachhead Advisor for Uruguay for New Zealand Trade and Enterprise.

A prolific communicator, Gabriela often contributes to international media and appears regularly on the BBC World Business Matters program.
